A Note from Raising Theologians Founder, Felicia Caid Smith
Even if you have not read every chapter and verse of the Bible or you do not hold a seminary degree, you are a theologian, and someone is watching, listening, and being shaped by the theology that you are living out each and every day. When you read the Bible, study its precepts, and live out a deep devotion to its Author, your spiritual walk sets an example for little ones (and even not-so-little ones) who are paying attention and learning from you.
The greatest theologians in my life were my mother, mother-in-law, aunt, and grandmother. My mother led me to Christ when I was seven years old, my mother-in-law taught me to study the Bible daily, my aunt showed me that women can be leaders in the church, and my grandmother demonstrated how to live out one's calling even when it is difficult. Today I am raising two theologians of my own, in whom I am hoping to leave a legacy of sincere faith so that they might also "pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance and gentleness" (1 Tim 6:11, NIV).
